Whats next for you?

whats next for your community?

Whats next for Your planet?

Whats next?

The brief for this years BHASVIC & GBMet collaborative competition:

We see dots and circles every day…

When texting they tell us someone is writing a reply…

When swiping through pictures they show us there’s more to see…

When reading they invite us to fill in the blanks…

We invite you to ponder the question “What’s Next…” and make an artistic response that explores the use of circles and/or dots in your work.

How you interpret the theme is entirely up to you. You may want to make work about climate change or politics or simply explore the everyday mundane beauty of making a cup of tea!

Work can be made in any medium and at any scale. Consider the circle as a canvas, a frame, a window or a visual element. Your circles/dots might be at the very front and center of your work or they may take a back seat.

Here are some examples of artists that have used circles and dots in their work:

Sonya Delaunay

Syncopated Rythmn (1967)

Yayoi Kusama

The Obliteration Room 2002

Nancy Holt

Sun Tunnels 1973-76
